“Cursed Words and the Azure Tower”
It was an ironic blessing and a comical curse that some clever bastard managed to get hold of Crunchyroll's bench players this season and leak all the information about them. Besides the big show in Konosuba (which has two episodes now), there are also smaller shows like Untitled Memories that got preempted and led to this strange situation when I blogged about it a week after it aired. “technical” practice. What can I say, raw screenshots are needed and by God I won't look until I get them. Or at least I'll try!
As mentioned in the RC Preview, Untitled Memories is perhaps one of the few unique fantasy shows this season. At the center of the film is Prince Oscar (Nakajima Yoshiki), a proud and outspoken prince who, through some ominous circumstances, has made himself cursed when any of his wives – and children her unborn child – died horribly. Naturally this is an untenable situation for any royal, so Oscar does the next best thing: find a nearby witch in an isolated tower to ask her to lift her curse. his curse. Enterasha (Tanezaki Atsumi), the tower's green witch, who forces Oscar to pass a series of trials – both mental and physical – before he can approach her and make his request. It's definitely a crazy situation, it's definitely fantastical, but it's pretty fun to watch play out, especially when both characters finally meet.
What probably impressed me the most about this episode was the chemistry between Oscar and Tinasha after they met. face to face. Normally, you would expect this guy to be meek, goofy, or some variation of Wal-Mart's isekai flavor, but Oscar is the opposite, confident, ambitious, and moxie enough to make quick work of it. confused people who are absolutely young and certainly not centuries old. Tinasha after the joke started. Likewise, Tinasha herself is not a shy or demure girl, she has a sense of pride and confidence, which makes for some very laughable scenes when it comes across Oscar's own schemes. , especially when it is discovered that Oscar's curse is not a curse at all. curse but rather a so-called blessing and can be solved by simply finding a woman who is able to endure it.
When combined, the feeling of maturity, the character of the game and the ending reveal that Tinasha lived with Oscar for a long time. a year (as compensation for Tinasha's outright rejection of marriage, heh) makes me quite looking forward to seeing this drama unfold. Besides the fun chemistry, there's some important story going on under the surface, and from what I know about it, let's just say it's going to be a wild ride. Definitely keep an eye out for this one if you want a different flavor of fantasy this spring, you won't be disappointed.
