A new teaser image has been revealed for the upcoming Boys’Love Twilight Out of Focus television anime series, along with the addition of several new voice actors and main production staff. The anime will also premiere in July 2024.

The main voice cast of Twilight Out of Focus will reprise their roles in the CD film, led by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Yuuma Uchida as Mao Tsuchiya and Hisashi Otomo. Other cast members include:
• Makoto Furukawa as Zin Kikuchihara • Masatomo Nakazawa as Giichi Ichikawa • Takuya Eguchi as Rei Inaba • Soma Saito as Shion Yoshino
Meanwhile, the main cast includes Toshinori Watanabe as director, Yoko Kikuchi as character designer and Yoshimi Narita as scriptwriter for the series. Studio Deen is responsible for the animation production of the series.
Jyanome’s original manga was first serialized in Kodansha’s BL Honey Milk magazine from June 10, 2018 to March 10, 2019, and has since been published in five series. The fifth season of the “Long Take” series began serialization on August 10, 2022. Five tankobon volumes have been released as of July 2023.

The series also inspired a spin-off titled in English Twilight Out of Focus 2: Afterimages in Slow Motion, the sequel and fourth installment of the “Evening Monologues” series.
Kodansha USA released the Twilight Out of Focus series digitally in English, describing the first volume as follows:
Movie buff Mao Tsuchiya and his lone wolf roommate Hisashi Otomo make three promises: ① That Mao will never tell anyone that Hisashi is gay and has a boyfriend, ② That Hisashi will never now approach Mao “that way” and ③ That they would respect each other’s “private time.” The second year’s ground rules should ensure a peaceful life together in their dorm, but reality is never as simple as the movies and some things aren’t as easy as promised…
