Kodansha USA licensed the first volume in English in March 2022 and describes the plot as: Movie Enthusiast Mao Tsuchiya and his lone wolf roommate Hisashi Otomo make three promises: ① That Mao will never tell anyone that Hisashi is gay and has a boyfriend, ② That Hisashi will never approach Mao “according to that way” and ③ That they will respect each other’s “private time”. The ground rules of the second year must ensure a peaceful environment of life together in their dormitory, but reality is never as simple as the movies, and some things are not as easy as promised…
Kodansha also licensed the second volume, titled Twilight Out of Focus 2: Afterimages in Slow Motion: Jin, third-year director, lead actor and film club president, and third-year director The two Giichis have very similar views. small. Jin is flashy, flirtatious, and focused on keeping everyone happy, while Giichi expects the best of himself and others, and will not compromise to achieve his vision. Constantly arguing with each other, the two can hardly stand being in the same club. But what happens when family troubles force them to share a dorm room? Will their common interests bring them closer together as friends, push them further apart as rivals—or something else entirely?
In addition to Twilight Out of Focus, other manga titles that Jyanome has worked on include Waraibanashi no You da (2012), Colorful na Kimi to Monochrome na Boku (2014), and Michimichi naru Mama ni (2017).
