Toyota announced that they will release a five-episode anime series titled Grip, scheduled for release on February 26, 2024. The series is produced by marketing company Intertrend, with director assassin from Jae Woo Kim (Ben10: Omniverse). New episodes of Grip will be released weekly on the official website. Grip will be a marketing campaign aimed at a younger audience to introduce the Gazoo Racing motorsport division and other cars in the Toyota lineup. The three main models that the series will focus on include: GR Corolla, GR Supra and GR86. Intertrend Executive Director of Strategy/Creative Matthew Choy told Variety that the series is inspired by other anime such as Initial D and that, “This series is not only [for] anime lovers and nerds, but also for those who want to see a thrilling story unfold.” Viewers can watch a 15-second preview of the first episode below:
