Tower of God Season 2 Episode 9 Review: This episode shows us the connection between Horyang and Viole. Let's see how this episode plays out.
Tower of God Season 2 Episode 8 Recap
The episode opens with the introduction of a new chatbot named Emily, who quickly becomes popular among the tower's residents. Emily acts like an AI chatbot, getting people hooked on her and asking her questions the way they would ask a friend, companion, or even a partner.
However, Emily is not just a normal chatbot. She sometimes asks deeply personal questions, including questions about love, leaving Emily's true nature uncertain. It is still unclear whether it is a simple AI or something more sinister that is taking control. What is certain is that once people start using her, it is extremely difficult to get rid of her. Emily's influence is not entirely benign as she begins to interfere with the players' lives, especially during exam time. Some players become so dependent on Emily that they use her to find answers to important questions on the test, hoping that she will guide them through.
Dan experiences this firsthand when he decides to follow Emily's advice to choose a particular path, which turns out to be a bad choice. However, he turns things around and saves the world.
Meanwhile, we also see Viole and Khun's team undergoing their own exam to get to the tower.
Tower of God Season 2 Episode 9 Review and Recap
Today's episode focuses more on Horyang and his past, showing that he is one of the strongest characters in this anime. It was established from the beginning that Khun was searching for a man known as the right-hand demon. Not much was revealed about why he was searching for this man other than his curiosity about whether he could defeat Hatz. Thanks to his teammates, Khun eventually found him, and this man looked eerily similar to Horyang from Viole's team.
We later find out that Horyang himself is looking for this mysterious man because he has a long-standing relationship with him. him. He reveals in front of his teammates that when they were children, he and another boy named Casano were sold as experimental subjects. The two grew up as brothers but also underwent hellish experiments. They were also not given names until a kind doctor decided to name them. When they found out about the experiment, it was too late for them, because by now, they were in possession of mobile weapons with extraordinary capabilities.
However, the two were separated and now Horyang wants to find him. His story motivates everyone in the group to help him in his search and they all decide to join him. But before that, Horyang confronts Viole about his own identity and power.
It is revealed that the powers that Horyang and Casano possess are extremely similar to the skeleton-like powers that Viole occasionally displays. But how can that be possible when the experiment that Horyang and Casano participated in had no other survivors besides them?
Verdict
Today's episode was interesting because we learned about the past of a side character who could become important later on. There's a high chance that Khun will come into contact with Horyang or even Viole since they're all looking for Casano.
But the most troubling aspect of this series is how confusing it can be for just the anime observer. A lot of the information given to you isn't explained properly and so you have to Google it to get a better understanding of what's going on.
