Emma Sano is Shinichiro Sano, Mikey’s half-sister and Izana Kurokawa’s adopted sister in the Tokyo Revengers manga and anime. She is a relatively important supporting character, and her death has a major impact on the final clash between Tenijku and Toman in the Tenjiku Arc. How? Well, due to her death, Dragon and Mikey cannot participate in the final battle, which implies that Tenjiku will defeat them in the series. But will Mikey still arrive before the battle is over? If you want to know the answer to that question and others, we can only tell you the following – keep reading!
Article details: Because Emma Sano was killed, Mikey and Dragon were unable to participate in the final battle against Toman. A postponement was discussed, but Takemichi insisted that the match be held as arranged. During the war, the Toman achieved some initial success, but due to being outnumbered and—in some respects—unskilled, they were unable to inflict any serious damage on Tenjiku, and the battle seemed like lost. But, seemingly all was lost, moments before Tenjiku could declare victory, Mikey actually appeared, and the war between the two gangs entered a whole new phase.
Mikey will indeed return to help his group fight Tenjiku
Tenjiku and Toman are preparing for the decisive battle that will settle everything. Tenjiku aspires to become the most powerful gang in Japan by destroying and assimilating every other gang in the country. Emma’s early death puts Toman in a lot of trouble as Mikey and Dragon will not be able to participate in the final battle. Takemichi objected to delaying the match to give the contestants more time to prepare, as suggested by the other members. Although his gang members protested, they eventually united and swore allegiance to their powerful leader.
The fight itself had some ups and downs, but the bottom line was – Mikey wasn’t there. Toman achieved some initial success in the early stages of the war, which surprised even Izana, the leader of Tenjiku. However, Toman was outnumbered and superior in many ways so it was only a temporary boost, as Toman members could do little to put themselves in a better position.
And after these initial successes, the Toman members declined. At one point, all the fighters lay on the ground, beaten and exhausted, while Tenjiku’s elite fighters remained there. Kakucho quickly fights Takemichi and is able to defeat him easily, which is when the situation quickly escalates. Chifuyu urged Takemichi to surrender but Takemichi refused. Everything was pointing towards Tenjiku’s victory, but then – something happened. A sudden and seemingly unexpected appearance changed everything.
Okay, true manga fans knew this was coming, because otherwise it wouldn’t make any sense, but it’s still nice to see Mikey again. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Mikey will indeed return and will help his gang fight against Tenjiku, especially Izana. What will happen in that war? Well, you’ll have to wait and see, as we won’t spoil that part, but we can confirm that Mikey will return and it’s a key moment in the story.
Is Mikey still the leader of Toman?
Well, the Tenjiku Arc is a complicated one in terms of leadership, as Toman faces some serious problems, including Mikey’s plot, Emma’s death, and the infamous Kanto Incident . We explained above that Emma Sano’s death caused major problems for Toman, as neither Mikey nor Dragon could fight against Tenjiku in Kanto. Takemichi has assumed the role of leader of the gang, and that fact raises a very important question: whether Mikey is still Toman’s leader in the Tenjiku arc, now that we know what happened ? The simple answer is – yes!
There will be a point in the plot when Takemichi becomes the leader of the second generation of Toman. However, Mikey was always the most important person in the room and that was something even Takemichi had never questioned. Sure, due to Emma’s death, Mikey was absent and Takemichi took over, but this was simply a role… he never usurped the group’s leadership, nor did he ever take on the role of Mikey. He temporarily leads the gang while Mikey is absent, but we can only confirm that Mikey remains Toman’s leader throughout the Tenjiku arc.
