Toei Animation describes the game:
NOROI KAGO: the Grudged Domain is a co-op survival horror game based on the theme of yokai. These are supernatural creatures originating from traditional Japanese folklore. The game allows for cooperative play for up to four players with the goal of escaping a confined space where yokai roam.
PONOS and DeNA launched the Yuru~i GeGeGe no Kitarō: Yōkai Dotabata Daisensō Smartphone Game (Lax Gegege no Kitarō: Yōkai Slapstick Big Battle) in Japan in 2018. The game ended service in January 2023.
The latest film in the Kitarō Tanjō: Gegege no Nazo (The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe) series will have a new screening in theaters in Japan starting on October 4. The new screening will be titled Kitarō Tanjō: Gegege no Nazo Shinseiban (The True Version). The new version will have approximately 327 re-cut scenes, as well as some dubbed lines. The new version will be rated R15+. The original film opened in Japan in November 2023 with a PG12 rating.
The film is part of four “major projects” to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Shigeru Mizuki’s birth. Mizuki passed away in 2015 at the age of 93. Another project is the anime Akuma Kun, which will premiere on Netflix in November 2023.
The latest GeGeGe no Kitarō anime—the sixth television anime incarnation—premiered in April 2018 and replaced Dragon Ball Super in the same timeslot. The series ended airing in March 2020 after 97 episodes.
Mizuki's manga, which began in 1959 as Hakaba Kitarō, has spawned seven television series (including a Hakaba Kitarō anime), several animated films, and two live-action films. The story revolves around a non-human boy who straddles the boundary between the human world and the supernatural world.
