Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter #405For Hundreds My Hero Academy chapter, there was a prophecy about All possible‘s is doomed, and now it seems that prophecy has come true – but not in the way fans expected. While Bakugo’s actions changed All Might’s fate and saved his life, it seems that Sir Nighteye’s vision of the future still holds some truth.
Chapter #405 of My Hero Academia opens with All Might hallucinating Sir Nighteye, his former (and deceased) companion, who confirms that the moment he foresaw was indeed was All for One holding All Might’s withered body aloft. Even though fate has changed and All Might is still alive, Sir Nighteye points out that his vision did come true after all.
Sir Nighteye’s vision represents the death of All Might’s dream, a dream of a world where he is the top hero and his very presence stops crime due to him being the Symbol of Peace . However, although this version of All Might’s dream may have been fulfilled, he still planted the seeds for the next generation to ensure that this peaceful world can still exist.
All Might’s dream lives on in his students
The overthrow of All Might’s predicted death seems to have left the former No. 1 hero feeling down. All Might darkly asks Sir Nighteye if it is the role of the mentor to die after passing on knowledge to them, and his companion dismisses it as humorous stories. The humor doesn’t apply to their lives – in a great moment of the series. Despite what All Might had said when he started fighting All for One, it seemed like some small part of him had expected to die there fighting his enemies in that armor. All Might had never even considered what he would do if he survived this climactic battle, and for the first time in decades, he seemed truly unsure of his purpose.
While All Might has certainly dropped plenty of hints that he might die in previous chapters, chapter #405 goes against the popular trope of the fallen mentor. It’s a much more interesting position for All Might’s character than when he died, because for the first time his future was wide open. His injuries are severe and he may no longer be able to do many of the things he did in the past, but All Might is still alive. It will be up to All Might – or perhaps more accurately, Toshinori Yagi – to choose his path from here on out, without the specter of a gruesome death lurking in the future.
All may be dead, but Toshinori Yagi is still alive
Of course, the situation is still unresolved, so there are many immediate concerns that need to be addressed, but the door is now open for All Might to return to being a normal person, without the pressure of his job. hero. Ultimately, what overthrew Sir Nighteye’s prophecy was that the seeds of hope planted by All Might were harvested by the new generation. His students have proven themselves capable at this point, showing that they don’t even necessarily need him in that mentor role. Assuming the heroes win, All Might will have a new source of life. My Hero Academy resolved the plot of Sir Nighteye’s prophecy brilliantly, making it come true to some degree, with All possibleHis own dream died, but what he nurtured in his students proves that this dream will never truly die.
