Fall 2023 has some of the best upcoming animated movies in recent years. Kicking off a successful summer with hits like Jujutsu Kaisen and Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War The Separation dominated the industry, and as the summer comes to a close, a new anime is expected to hit fans. Anime fans all over the world.
There are many highly anticipated anime returning like Spy X Family and Tokyo Revengers season 3 or brand new shows like Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End airing this fall. Fans are sure to enjoy some great anime. However, there is one new anime that stands above the rest of the releases and has the potential to be the best anime in the Fall 2023 lineup: Undead Unluck.
Undead Unluck has all the ingredients to become a hit
Undead Unluck is an anime adapted from the manga of the same name by Yoshifumi Tozuka. With around 1.5 million copies in circulation, the series has been a huge success and was announced to be receiving an adaptation by David Productions, the studio behind hits like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Fire Force. With the beautiful animation that the studio is known for, this series is very well done. The anime’s trailer is also very promising as the sound effects and animations are reminiscent of Fire Force. There are a lot of big names working on this series and hence there are a lot of expectations. However, what makes the anime the top anime for Fall 2023 is the story.
The series follows a depressed Fuuko Izumo, who decides to take her own life after finishing her favorite manga. Anyone she touches has terrible luck, often leading to their death, and 200 people – including her parents – have died because of her abilities. Just before performing that act, she touches a man, who is then killed by an oncoming train. Miraculously, the man was reborn. The two become acquainted and Fuuko learns that he also wishes to die. The two team up when their abilities are targeted by an elusive organization. The immortal man agrees to work with Fuuko so that he can finally die in the most enjoyable way possible.
unlucky zombies is another action series that promises to make viewers laugh. The immortal man is named Andy and his wild, eccentric personality has a huge influence on anime. The film is filled with Chainsaw Man-like over-the-top violence, while also incorporating comedy, making it unique. Complete with a great power-up system, captivating characters, and an excellent storyline; The anime has all the makings of a show that is destined for success. This would be another show that David Productions could add to its hit lineup.
