The manga will feature issue 18 covers and will have a color opening page. The magazine will also include a sticker to commemorate the manga's return.
The series has been on an indefinite hiatus since December 2019, with the announcement at the time mentioning Sasuga's health issues. Tachibana later stated on Twitter in August 2021 that the manga would continue after Sasuga recovered from health problems.
Tachibana launched a new science fiction manga titled Gigantis in Shueisha's Grand Jump magazine in August 2021. The manga ended in July 2023.
Sasuga and Tachibana launched the Terraformars manga in 2011. Shueisha published the manga's 22nd compiled book volume in November 2019 with an anime DVD. Viz Media is publishing the manga in North America and published the manga's 22nd compiled book volume in December 2019 and the 21st compiled book volume in August 2019 with a DVD anime adaptation of the manga's Earth arc.
The first 13-episode television anime adaptation of the manga's Appendix 1 premiered in September 2014, while the television anime sequel Terraformars Revenge premiered in April 2016. Crunchyroll broadcast both series as they aired in Japan. The manga also inspired a two-episode OVA series adapting the Bugs 2 arc of the manga in 2014. These episodes were released alongside volumes 10 and 11 of the manga.
The manga inspired a live-action film that opened in Japan in April 2016.
