The Four Knights of the Apocalypse is the sequel to Nakaba Suzuki’s very popular Seven Deadly Sins series. The manga began serialization in 2021, shortly after the original series ended. A total of 10 volumes have now been published. The anime was announced in May 2022. Kodansha published the manga in English and describes the plot as follows:
In the world of The Seven Deadly Sins: The Four Knights of the Apocalypse, Percival has always lived with his grandfather on the idyllic, remote Finger of God. And although Percival loved the simple life, he longed for adventure. That is, until adventure knocks on his door, tearing apart everything he has ever known and leaving him alone in the world. Now Percival has no choice but to go out into the world and see what it holds…after all, it is his destiny!
The original Seven Deadly Sins manga also had an anime adaptation with 4 seasons and 2 movies. The first 2 seasons and the movie Prisoners of the Sky were animated by A-1 Pictures. Studio DEEN handled seasons 3 and 4, and the latest film Cursed by Light is considered an anime-only sequel. The TV anime is exclusive to Netflix worldwide, while the film is shown in theaters in Japan. All seasons and both movies as well as the special OVA series are now available on Netflix.
A two-part original CGI film titled The Seven Deadly Sins: The Grudge of Edinburgh also exists as a Netflix original. The first season premiered last year, while the second season is scheduled to premiere later this year.
