This will be the second new piece of information since ufotable and Aniplex first teased the film in December 2021. At that time, we only saw a little of main characters Alice and Aoko. This year, we may have more scenes as well as a release window.
Since Aniplex and ufotable announced the film in 2021, an enhanced version of the visual novel has launched for Nintendo Switch and PS4. A Windows PC version recently launched in December 2023. The story of Witch on the Holy Night follows Aoko Aozaki, a magician who lives in the town of Misaki with Alice Kuonji. Their lives together change when transfer student Sojuro Shizuki enters Aoko’s conflict with a mysterious magician, forcing him to live with the two magicians to protect the secrets of magic.
In July 2023, Aniplex announced that they had sold over 150,000 copies of the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions. The majority of sales came from December 2022, shortly after the game first launched. Witch on the Holy Night serves as a prequel to Tsukihime, which will be localized in English in 2024.
