The official website for the new TV Anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s Urusei Yatsura Manga revealed on March 24, 2023 that the second half of the anime will air in 2024.
The first half of the film ended on March 23, 2023. The anime premiered in October 2022.
The anime will run for half a year (two consecutive seasons). The entire Anime will be adapted from selected stories from the Manga.
Takahiro Kamei is directing the anime. Masaru Yokoyama will be composing the music.
The story is described:
Romantic comedy about high school student Ataru Moroboshi who meets the princess of the Demon Tribe, Lum Invader. The story begins when the planet Devil asks humans to participate in a chase contest, and of course our male protagonist is the one chosen to participate in this contest. The rules of the game are very simple, Ataru has 10 days to touch Lum’s horns, if he fails, the Earth will be invaded by Demons!
The manga ran in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from 1978 to 1987. The manga inspired a television anime series that ran from 1981 to 1986, multiple Movie Anime, and an OVA.
