The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 revealed the new trailer earlier today. The anime begins airing this October. Kinema Citrus is animated. MADKID will perform the opening theme song “SIN,” which can be heard in the trailer, and Chiai Fujikawa will perform the ending theme song “Suki ni Natte wa Ikenai Riyu.”

Hitoshi Haga will direct the third season, with Keigo Koyonagi composing the series (Kinema Citrus is also credited). Kevin Penkin is composing music. The Rising of the Shield Hero 3 had an early screening at this year’s Anime Expo, where a new key visual was also revealed:

The second season of the anime adaptation of The Rising of the Shield Hero debuted last April after being delayed from its original October 2021 release schedule. Masato Jinbo directed the second part, with Keigo Koyanagi composing the series. Masahiro Suwa is credited as the character designer. Kevin Penkin returns to composing music. Korean film DR did the animation with Kinema Citrus. Kinema Citrus is the anime’s first season, premiering in 2019. The anime is based on a light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi and illustrated by Minami Seira.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming the anime (in both subtitled and dubbed version) and describes the plot as follows:
Iwatani Naofumi, a mediocre otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with wielding swords, spears, and bows as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Catastrophe as the Hero of the Shield. Excited at the prospect of a great adventure, Naofumi sets out with her group. However, just a few days later, he was betrayed and lost all his money, dignity and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he hires a slave named Raphtalia and takes over the Waves and the world. But will he really find a way to turn this desperate situation around?
