ketchupterm of as PokémonThe movie’s protagonist may have come to an end, but he still hasn’t made up for his biggest crime with Misty. After decades of trying and failing, Ash has finally fulfilled his dream by becoming the Pokémon World Champion. Because of this great feat, he has officially left the show and been replaced by a new generation of coaches. However, this does not mean that all of his loose ends are tied.
Back in the beginning of the series, Ash infamously stole Misty’s bike in an attempt to get Pikachu to the Pokémon Center after a Spearow attack. This eventually leads to her bike being destroyed in a hurry, much to Misty’s frustration. In the end, she joined him to make sure he bought her a new bike. This leads the two, eventually joined by Brock, to go on an adventure to find and capture as many Pokémon as possible for Ash to become a Master. However, as years went by, Misty would eventually leave the group while reappearing occasionally throughout the series. However, in the end, fans found that what started their friendship never really got resolved.
Ash Never Got Misty a new bike
Twitter user Robert Sephazon pointed out that after decades of Ash’s journey ending with him becoming World Champion, Ash never actually compensated Misty for her destroyed bike or substitute it for her. It’s surprising to see that the very plot element that brought the two together never really paid off based on how it started. Ash never spends money out of pocket to fix her bike or buy her a new one. Even after winning as World Champion, he never used any of his winnings to pay off his friend’s debt… or Dawn and May for the cars. their bike for that matter. In the end, he escaped his responsibilities with impunity.
Misty got her bike back, but not because of the
In response to this post by Sephazon, many Twitter commenters including Yoshi @ CANON BI BAP pointed out that Misty actually got her bike back at the end of the run as one of the runners. Ash’s companion. This was absolutely true as she drove away with Togepi in her basket getting ready for her next adventure. However, Ash never replaced it. Instead, it was Nurse Joy who put it together and gave it to her. Ash has no hand in returning it to her. The end may justify the means in this case since Misty was satisfied enough to leave, but the principle of the matter suggests that Ash has yet to fulfill his responsibilities.
This doesn’t mean that Misty thinks badly of Ash for not fixing her bike herself. The two have apparently made up and don’t share any bad relations about what happened after Ash and Misty reunited in the Pokemon anime. In fact, without Ash, the two probably wouldn’t have been friends. Still, it’s surprising to think that such an important part of their friendship is never satisfactorily resolved beyond a brief moment with Nurse Joy. ketchupMisty’s guilt may not be as serious as when they first met, but this is the reality Pokémon The moment that was never made up was pretty big when he officially left the series.
