The game launches on April 25
Square Enix’s YouTube channel began streaming a new trailer for the upcoming SaGa game Emerald Beyond for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android on Thursday. The video highlights the playable character Siugnas, The Dismal King.

Square Enix character description:
An immortal vampire and Gloomy King rules Yomi, a world plunged in darkness.
After being stripped of his throne by someone or something treacherously, he awakens to find himself in Brighthome, a world where fallen warriors are gathered. He is recruited into the king’s warrior squad called the Generals and sent to fight in a chaotic battle against the invaders. But how did he, an immortal, come to a world where only the dead can go? Along with the members of his shogun group, he begins his journey to regain his abilities as the Gloomy King.
SaGa Emerald Beyond is scheduled for release on April 25.
Each hero has a journey across the game’s 17 worlds. There are many branching story lines and multiple endings.
Akitoshi Kawazu is the game designer/narrator, Kenji Ito composed the music, and Satoshi Kuramochi designed the characters.
Square released the first Romancing SaGa game in 1992 for the Super Famicom (SNES) console. An enhanced remake of the game for the PlayStation 2 titled Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song launched in Japan and North America in 2005. A port of the original Super Famicom game was released for mobile phones and digitally for the Nintendo Wii in 2009. Romancing SaGa: Minstrel The song received a remaster in December 2022.
