Although Too Many Losing Heroines! does not share any staff with any of Makoto Shinkai's works, the anime immediately gained attention due to its many similarities. From the very beginning, The character design is a bit similar to Shinkai's, Despite its slightly more muted color palette, Too Many Losing Heroines! also has a very similar atmosphere to Shinkai's films, with soft, sometimes eerie music and gorgeous opening shots that paint a vivid picture of the high school where the story takes place.
Another area where Makeine excels is its great composition and direction. The reason many of these establishing shots have cinematic feel like Makoto Shinkai's work This is because the anime often uses perspective and composition, which makes the series more engaging.
