Zelda-Starring Game Launches on Switch on September 26
Nintendo began streaming a “Traversing Hyrule” trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom on Monday, the first mainline game in the series to feature Zelda as the playable protagonist, as opposed to Link. The video previews Link’s abilities and Back Link, as well as smoothies and Travel Points. It also highlights locations like the Gerudo Desert, Jabul Waters, Eldin Volcano, and Faron Wetlands.

The game will launch on Nintendo Switch on September 26.
The story follows Princess Zelda, who meets the Prophet after a rift has taken over Hyrule and the hero Link. The Prophet gives Zelda the Trirod, which allows her to create simulated objects, called echoes. For example, she can create an echo of a table at any time to create a platform for herself to climb. Zelda can also create echoes of monsters.
The top-down game features an art style similar to the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remake was released for the Switch in September 2019. The original game launched for the Game Boy in Japan and the West in 1993. The game later received an updated Game Boy Color release in 1998.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom Switch game is coming in May 2023. The sequel to the game was previously delayed from 2022 to spring 2023 to extend development time. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is coming to Switch and Nintendo Wii U in March 2017.
