The world's largest official One Piece store will be in Los Angeles, California this week as Toei Animation welcomes the Mugiwara One Piece Store to its booth at Anime Expo.
Via Toei Animation's official X (formerly Twitter), Japan's One Piece Mugiwara Store is heading to the United States for a special pop-up event. The announcement reads: “For the first time ever, the One Piece Mugiwara Store is coming to the United States! Known as the world's largest One Piece store, we'll be bringing a special pop-up store to our Toei Animation exhibition booth (#3706) at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles with exclusive merchandise from Japan! ????☠️???? #OnePiece #MugiwaraStore #AX2024.” You can check out images of the pop-up store below.

One Piece Mugiwara Store operates a flagship store in Shibuya, along with trendy locations in Harajuku and Ikebukuro, along with locations in Abeno, Umeda, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Odaiba, and One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda's hometown of Kumamoto. The pop-up store event at Anime Expo follows the first One Piece Café in the United States as the series continues to grow its mainstream appeal. Other exciting anime events taking place during Anime Expo include the ONE PIECE Music Symphony North American tour starting on July 6, the launch of the Crunchyroll x Logic x Cowboy Bebop streetwear collection, the first U.S. screening of Look Back, and more.
Los Angeles is Becoming a Hub for Anime, Manga, and Japanese Stores and Events
Los Angeles in general is becoming a major US stronghold for anime and other Japanese brands. Little Akihabara recently announced the opening of the Akiba Maid War Pop-Up Cafe in partnership with Cygames and Sentai Filmworks. Meanwhile, hoolive Night will kick off at Dodgers Stadium on July 4, before Hello Kitty Night takes place this August, again in partnership with the LA Dodgers. Also worth noting is that the world's largest anime and manga store chain, Animate, has opened a Los Angeles location in 2023.
