MAPPA has dropped the major preview for the final episode of Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2, sparking speculation and anticipation as to how the episode will end its emotional and at times controversial run.
Featured on Toho Animation’s official YouTube channel, the short promotional video uses gritty manga-style artwork to prepare audiences for what will likely be one of the most epic anime finales of the year . The episode titled “Shibuya Incident: Closing the Gate” is scheduled to air on December 28 on TBS and its affiliated networks. As it did with previous episodes, Crunchyroll will broadcast the premiere for viewers outside of Japan. It’s no surprise that X (formerly Twitter) is currently flooded with theories about what will happen in the finale. Of these, one of the most popular is Jujutsu Kaisen 0’s reintroduction of Yuta Okkotsu.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0’s Yuta is expected to return in the season 2 finale
In the prequel film, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta replaces Yuji as the main character and his story has a particularly tragic aspect. Before enrolling in Jujutsu High School, Yuta was possessed by his deceased childhood friend, Rika, who used her body to murder innocent people in revenge. He was then captured by jujutsu witches and isolated to protect the public. Satoru Gojo then convinces the authorities to release Yuta to him so he can teach the young witch to use Rika’s curse power for the benefit of humanity. At one point, Yuta departed for a training mission abroad but decided to return after learning about the events that followed the Shibuya Incident.
Although Yuta did not appear in the final preview, he appeared briefly in one of the trailers for Season 2. Because of this, Jujutsu Kaisen fans are confident that he will definitely appear appear again. “The speed at which the chapters are adapted gives me more confidence and hope that JJK Season 2 will truly end with Yuta’s reappearance!” wrote user X. Another X user commented: “My most anticipated scene in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has to be the scene where Yuta announces that he will kill Yuji; The king returns.” This particular panel from the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga seems to be a fan favorite; many X posts convey the desire for Season 2 to end with this iconic Yuta moment.
