A new key visual has been revealed for the upcoming second season of the anime series The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors, which will begin airing in Japan on October 4, 2024.
Like the first season, the second season was shown in Japanese theaters in three parts on July 5, 2024, August 23, 2024, and the upcoming screening for the final part on September 20, 2024.

Mankyu is returning to direct the second season of the anime, along with Takeshi Iwata (formerly assistant director and CG director). Susumu Sagai will return as CG director, Yoichi Kato as series writer and scriptwriter, and Ryohei Fukushi as character designer. Lantis is again producing the music. Polygon Pictures is producing the anime.
The first 12-episode season premiered on Japanese television from April 6, 2024 to June 22, 2024. It was aired in Japan in three parts on October 27, 2023, November 24, 2023, and January 5, 2024.
The anime features idols from the lighting groups STARS, L'Antica, Houkago Climax Girls, ALSTROEMERIA, and Straylight. Other characters include 283 production staff member Hazuki Nanakusa (voiced by Hibiku Yamamura) and 283 president Tsutomu Amai (Kenjiro Tsuda).
The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors is inspired by the video game of the same name. It was released on the enza website on April 24, 2018 and on Android and iOS on March 13, 2019. The game tasks the player with taking on the role of a new producer at 283 Production who is put in charge of various idols.

The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors is part of The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER) multimedia franchise by Bandai Namco Entertainment, which began with a 2005 arcade game that was ported to the Xbox 360 in 2007. Previous anime in the series include Idolmaster: Xenoglossia in 2007, The Idolmaster in 2011, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls in 2015, The Idolmaster SideM in 2017, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls U149 in 2023, and The Idolmaster Million Live!.
