This post contains spoilers for Chapter #192 (JP) of One-Punch Man.Man one punchFubuki’s been trying to recruit Saitama to his Blizzard team for a very long time. While her latest attempt comically fails, in the process Fubuki gains another powerful ally that could be just as dangerous as Saitama.
Initially appearing as a villain as the executive director of the Monster Association, the former dog breed Overgrown Rover was tamed by Saitama and began living as his pet. While trying to recruit Saitama into his group of heroes with the lure of premium meat, Blizzard Group leader Fubuki accidentally wins over Rover. With the hope of being able to eat more premium beef, Rover began to persistently follow Blizzard Group. Initially upset by this development, by the end of the chapter, Fubuki witnesses Rover defeating a powerful monster with a single attack and thus welcomes the “pet” as its newest member. by Blizzard Team.
Overgrown Rover is a much-needed powerful addition to Blizzard Corporation
Rover joining Blizzard Group will certainly be a valuable asset for Fubuki. In previous One-Punch Man chapters, Rover has proven himself to be a powerful being. Rover survived the battle with the Hero Association members, including Fubuki. Although the combined efforts of Fubuki, Bang, and Bomb had previously defeated Rover, this was mainly due to the heroes accidentally ordering Rover to sit still, but throughout the fight, Rover received a lot of attention. little actual damage. Most notably, however, in his fight against Saitama, Rover survived a single punch, a feat that even the strongest monsters like Orochi could not boast of. Even though it wasn’t exactly a “Serious Punch”, the attack still caused damage and shook the entire base of the Monster Association.
Although Rover has shrunk down to a much smaller, weaker form in recent chapters, he is clearly still strong enough to defeat monsters in a single attack and has a proven track record of durability and resistance to damage. Blizzard Corporation has clearly acquired a powerful new asset, one that they sorely need. Although after the confrontation between Fubuki and Tatsumaki, Team Blizzard vowed to become stronger, its members are still quite weak by One-Punch Man standards. Having Rover on the team means they will be able to play a more important role going forward, which will also bring more attention to fan favorite Fubuki.
Fubuki’s development is one of the best stories in One-Punch Man
While it was initially an accident, Overgrown Rover joining Fubuki and Blizzard Group could have been an important plot development with plenty of potential for comedic shenanigans. Considering how involved Fubuki’s development was in the previous story arc, it’s nice to not see her disappear on the sidelines. Fubuki has one of the most interesting character arcs in Man one punchand acquiring this powerful asset will hopefully boost both Fubuki and Blizzard Corporation to new heights.
