Both the original Japanese version and the English dub of The Eminence in Shadow second season will premiere simultaneously.
According to Anime News Network, both audio versions will be available on HIDIVE on October 4. The announcement also confirmed many British voice actors will return, including Adam Gibbs (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) taking on the role of main character Cid Kageno is the most notable character. Other members of the voice cast include Christina Kelly (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma) as Alpha, Annie Wild (Call of the Night) as Beta, Elissa Cuellar (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as Gamma and Raven Troup (Farming Life in Another World) as Delta.
Members of the Japanese voice cast also reprized their roles. For example, Seiichirō Yamashita (Let’s say a kid from the final dungeon Boonies is transported to a starting town) will once again play Cid alongside Asami Seto (The Rising of the Shield Hero) and Ayaka Asai ( Sound! Euphonium) brings Alpha and Zeta to life, respectively. Kazuya Nakanishi (Darwin’s Game) is directing Part 2, with Kanichi Katou (Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun) overseeing the script.
Based on the light novel of the same name by Daisuke Aizawa, Studio Nexus’ (Chivalry of a Failed Knight) anime The Eminence in Shadow began airing its first season in October 2022. The series represents a unique twist on the franchise. isekai series, follows an ordinary teenage boy who, after being hit by a truck, is transported to a fantasy world. Cid eventually becomes the leader of a mysterious organization called Shadow Garden, which fights against the evil cult Diablos. However, while the cult is a real threat, Cid truly believes that the entire scenario is an elaborate role-playing game created and maintained by his new friends.
Season 2 will continue Cid’s adventures, and promotional material released so far suggests the new episodes will continue to balance over-the-top comedy with over-the-top drama. The first trailer for The Eminence in Shadow season two reveals the main plot setting, the Lawless City, and introduces three new villains – the Tyrant, the Progenitor Vampire and the Ghost.
The light novel Eminence in Shadow has been adapted into other types of entertainment media besides anime. Not only are there multiple manga series, but in November 2022, a role-playing video game called Master of Garden was dropped.
