What happened in The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Episode #5?
Episode #5 begins with tensions escalating between Mitsugoshi and the Big Business Alliance when Gettan sends his Clovers to attack the store. Luckily Gamma fights them off in a fun way. The episode then cuts to Cid (in character as John Smith) and Yukime beginning their plan to release a large amount of counterfeit money into the market. This is extremely worrying for both Shadow Garden and Gettan, who is revealed to be a high-ranking member of the Diabolos Cult. In response to this, Shadow Garden sent three agents to disrupt a shipment of counterfeit money, but John Smith was able to easily defeat them using magically reinforced wire. That fight once again shows how chaotic the hero of The Eminence in Shadow can be, as Cid is essentially fighting against the group he created.
In The Eminence in Shadow Season 2 Episode #6 Shadow Garden will fight Cid
John Smith’s victory over the group of Shadow Garden agents sent to stop him will likely cause the organization to consider him a serious threat. So this time they will probably try to face him again with one of the Seven Shades in attendance. This represents a major escalation in power levels and can even make it difficult for Cid in battle. It will also be interesting to see how the Shades react to learning that Cid is the one responsible for this plan to damage Mitsugoshi’s credibility if they can see through his disguise. Although they are all extremely loyal to him, this could be seen as an act of betrayal that causes them to turn against him.
Gettan will likely also begin fighting Cid’s tampering operation in issue #6, creating another interesting source of conflict. All of this makes this arc extremely chaotic but also shows why The Eminence in Shadow is one of the best isekai series. If Season 2 episode #6 will unleash its full potential, then Famous darkness may even surpass its previous high standards.
