What happened in episode 6 of The Elusive Samurai?
Genba makes an impossible play; squanders all goodwill the next day
Following the events of The Elusive Samurai volume #5, Tokiyuki and Genba take command of the royal family to capture the Suwa Grand Shrine but are discovered by Sukefusa, an oddly talented tracker. Sukefusa nearly catches the intruders, nearly dealing a fatal blow to Genba, only for Tokiyuki to stop the attack while slightly injured. The two continue their escape plan, but Sadamune also joins the pursuit, assisted by Sukefusa's extremely deadly sniping abilities.
However, Genba retreated to make a daring move where he successfully disarmed Sadamune, cutting off aid to his army and revealing that Sadamune's warehouse and surrounding area were burned down.with the characteristically awesome visuals of The Elusive Samurai. In the chaos, Sadamune regains his senses and discovers that Genba has disappeared, leaving them completely unable to track their prey. In a real sense, Tokiyuki's infiltration of this untested shinobi is a resounding success, a victory for the Suwa Grand Shrine, who live another day without Sadamune's surveillance.
The Elusive warriors celebrate their victory at the shrine, with Yorishige proudly tending to Tokiyuki's wounds. The young prince's choice to take the blow in Genba's place proves that records show he has never done the same to another person despite being betrayed by so many around him. However, this principle does not hold true for everyone, with Genba's celebration quickly turning into drunkenness. The final moments of the episode turn to Takauji's brutal consolidation of power, who confronts Shogun Moriyoshi Shinno, son of Go-Daigo, quickly turned the emperor's favor to his side.

A rookie is recruited for the Elusive Warriors
In episode 7 of The Elusive Samurai, when the Imperial Court grants Sadamune land on both sides of Suwa, Tokiyuki must head north to investigate suspicious activity on the border from Sadamune's forces. This will introduce a special swordsman and potential candidate for Tokiyuki's forces, Fubuki.whose large appetite and eccentric personality hide a more complicated past than the prince's other servants. However, while Tokiyuki meets new allies, Sadamune recruits other misfits to his cause.
Soon, viewers are introduced to Hirano Shingen, or “Shokan,” a ruthless bandit leader whose brutal, inhumane tactics are a reflection of Sadamune’s growing desperation. The burning question viewers may have is why he’s covered in ants, but his brutal massacres of innocent villagers will make him a regular foe.
