Golems are extremely powerful creatures. Not the smartest. But they could annihilate a ravaging army with ease wherever they went. They are extremely researched and very difficult to kill.
The army will have to find a way to destroy the Golem quickly or risk losing the battle right then and there. Stronger soldiers will be able to resist them for a while but that is not a reliable option. They have an option to avoid all the Golems together. Golems are notoriously slow. If they moce fast enough, they should be able to pass. However, they should have more ranged attacks.
With Golemsin, breaking the second wall became almost impossible. They can always jump/fly over walls but I doubt that everyone is talented and skilled enough to do something like that. Even as they did, there was an army there waiting to chop their bodies from hand to hand. If they jumped over the wall, the place they landed would be their own grave.
