English dub world premiere at NYCC on October 12
© 2022 IDIVE announced on Wednesday that it will begin screening Tomohisa Taguchi’s The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes, the anime film by Mei Hachimoku and Kukka’s Naruto e no Tunnel, the young adult novel Sayonara no Deguchi, will open in US theaters on November 3. The company will present the world premiere of the English dub along with a panel featuring the voice actors on October 12 at 7:30 p.m. EDT at New York Comic Con. The launch and panel will take place in Room 405 at the Javits Center.
Tickets will go on sale October 10.
The film opens in Japan in September 2022. Ōji Suzuka stars in the film as Kaoru Tōno and Marie Iitoyo plays Anzu Hanaki. Otakon premiered the English-subtitled version of the film on July 29.

Tomohisa Taguchi (Akudama Drive, Kino’s Journey-The Beautiful World, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna) directed the film at CLAP (Pompo: The Cinéphile), and also wrote the script and storyboards, and line director alongside Kanji Miyake. Tomomi Yabuki (Pompo: Cinéphile Animation Director) is the character designer and animation director, with Yabuki, Seiji Tachikawa, Akio Hasegawa and Yasuhisa Katō as animation directors. Harumi Fuuki (Miss Hokusai, Forest of Piano, Tsurune) composed the music.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the original light novel and its manga adaptation.
Hachimoku released the original novel in July 2019, featuring illustrations by Kukka. The novel was ranked 9th in the Bunkobon category of the 2020 edition of Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! Instruction manual (Light Novel is amazing!).
Koudon launched the manga in Shogakukan’s Sunday GX magazine in July 2020 and ended it in November 2021.
