While Devil Fruits are the most popular for characters in A piece to gain power, there are many powerful characters in the series who do not use Devil Fruits to fight. These characters often rely on One Piece’s secondary power system, Haki, to supplement their innate strength. While their abilities may not be as flashy as some of the Devil Fruit Users in the series, they can easily rival many characters in terms of power.
Surprisingly, many of these characters have been among the series’ most important characters from the very beginning. This speaks to the excellent storytelling of series author Eiichiro Oda, who early on subtly introduces concepts like Haki proving that he planned the plot of One Piece from the start. This also makes the overwhelming power of many of these characters even more believable despite the extremely powerful Devil Fruit users in the series.
Koby
Koby may still be in training, but he’s fast becoming one of One Piece’s strongest characters despite that. Initially starting out as a weaker opponent to Luffy, Koby will eventually train under Vice Admiral Garp and learn how to take down battleships with a single punch like the older marine.
His most impressive feat has proven that he can even destroy an island’s giant stone arm with a single Haki-infused punch, making him a worthy replacement for Garp. By the end of the series, Koby can easily become one of the most powerful characters.
Tan Bac
Jinbei is the newest member of the Straw Hat crew, but this doesn’t make him weak. Before joining the Straw Hats, Jinbei rose to Shichibukai status, meaning he was a pirate strong enough to make the World Government unwilling to face him.
With his powerful Fish-Man Karate skills, it’s not hard to see why Jinbei can take down opponents in physical combat and manipulate water around him. Even though he was defeated by many other warriors in One Piece, he is still an extremely powerful character.
Oden
Unfortunately, fans didn’t get to see much of Oden beyond a brief flashback, but in it, Oden proved that he’s a force to be reckoned with. From his childhood exploits defeating giant animals to his time with Roger’s pirate crew, Oden has proven time and time again that he is one of the best swordsmen in the series.
His most impressive feat is being able to hit Kaido so hard that it scared the incredibly powerful Yonko. Although Oden is no longer alive, these feats will always mark him as one of the strongest characters in One Piece.
Sanji
Sanji is one of the strongest Straw Hat members, being part of the Monsters trilogy, and he only gets stronger as the series goes on. His primary form of attack is devastating kicks, powerful enough to set his legs on fire, but he’s recently received powerful upgrades from the Power Rangers-like family of evil scientists mine.
While these new powers have yet to be fully explored, they include invisibility as well as some degree of healing element. Even though Sanji doesn’t like these powers, he will still use them if needed, and this combined with his already impressive base power puts him on this list.
Mihawk
Mihawk is often considered the strongest swordsman of all time in the One Piece world, which may make his place on this list seem relatively low, especially compared to some of the highly ranked characters. more on this list. The reason for this is that fans haven’t really seen Mihawk in a serious fight since he fought young Zoro in East Blue.
Mihawk has become an important character in the series since then, becoming a founding member of the Cross Guild with the new Yonko Buggy and training Zoro during the timeskip, but he needs to show off his fighting skills more before earning a higher position on this list.
Rayleigh
Silvers Rayleigh is a former member of the Roger Pirates that the Straw Hats met on Saobody. Despite his age, Rayleigh’s mastery of Haki allows him to still fight incredibly powerful enemies, confronting Navy Admiral Kizaru to protect Luffy and his crew.
It also made him the perfect mentor for Luffy when the young pirate learned Haki during the timeskip. As of now in the manga, Rayleigh is in Amazon Lily with Boa Hancock, and is therefore unlikely to play a major role in the final Saga, but if the inevitable final war battles come to pass with him, he may once again appear. fans why are you still scared.
Zoro
Easily the strongest Straw Hat without a Devil Fruit, Zoro is a powerful swordsman who has taken down countless enemies of the crew. As the series continues, Zoro grows stronger, improving his techniques and receiving new, more powerful swords.
His incredible strength was most evident in the recent anime episode that featured a battle with King, showing that he was able to defeat other top Yonko lieutenants. Zoro will likely only grow in strength as One Piece continues, so he could easily move up this ranking in the future.
Garp
Fans have always known that Garp has been an extremely powerful character in the Navy, ever since the days of Roger and Whitebeard, but until recently, they had never seen him really show off his action skills. With Sword’s attack on Fullalead Island to reclaim Koby from the Blackbeard Pirates, Garp finally had the chance to show his true power.
Despite being captured at the end of the fight, Garp completely devastated the massive force against him with his extremely powerful punches and the ability to fight through brutal attacks. If this is what he was able to do as an old man, it’s hard to imagine how powerful he could be in his prime.
Roger
Roger will likely take the number one spot on this list in the future, but unfortunately fans haven’t seen enough of him to place him above the last non-Devil Fruit user on this list. With that said, Roger was able to show his power in a brilliant flashback to Oden in Wano, confronting Whitebeard in his prime.
In addition, Roger was strong enough to claim the title of Pirate King while alive, only to be arbitrarily executed by the World Government after surrendering. Hopefully Oda gets to show more of Roger before the series ends and when that happens he can take the top spot on this list.
Shanks
Similar to characters lower on this list like Mihawk and Roger, fans sadly haven’t seen much of Shanks. With his recent defeat of Kid, Shanks has shown a level of mastery over Haki that makes him easily the best user of Observation Haki in the series.
Additionally, at the end of the Wano battle, he impressively demonstrated the incredible range of his Conqueror’s Haki. And he was powerful enough to end the Marineford war just by showing up. Of course, this last feat could be due to Shanks’ theory of being a Heavenly Dragon, but regardless, he still proves to be one of the strongest characters in the series so far despite only being one arm and no. ate devil fruit.
Many of the characters on this list have yet to reveal their full powers, although if the Final Saga’s prologue is any indication, they may soon be able to do so. Additionally, many characters such as Koby, Zoro, and Sanji will likely mature before the series ends, increasing their power levels. So, A pieceThe strongest Devil Fruit non-users prove that characters don’t need to have the flashy Devil Fruit abilities to remain incredibly powerful and important.
