However, there is one character in the series who has many similarities with the talented filmmaker. Episode four, titled “Whatever,” is set in a movie with a director named Edgar Wrong, who also bears a striking resemblance to Edgar Wright. The character is not voiced by the director but instead by the talented Kevin McDonald, whom audiences may recognize from the sketch shows Lilo & Stitch and The Kids in the Hall. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have finally found their way into the Scott Pilgrim series. These two talented actors became famous for their comedic chemistry and starred in many of Wright’s projects. The pair were absent from Wright’s 2010 adaptation but did voice the role of a security guard in Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. Both characters can be seen guarding the studio entrance in several scenes. Pegg and Frost each starred in most of Wright’s projects before Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, so it’s surprising that neither of them had a role in the film. However, after 13 years, they found their way into the beloved world that Wright helped create.
