Summary
The foreshadowing in the Naruto series is amazing, especially in Shippuden, where hints and twists have kept fans hooked for 700 chapters. Sakura and Sasuke's relationship was teased early on, with the cover illustration hinting at Sakura joining the Sasuke clan. Team 7's summoning jutsu was subtly mentioned in chapter #6, introducing important animals that play an important role in their lives.
With a string as long as Naruto, spanning 700 chapters, a lot of care and planning went into making the manga as cohesive as possible. From the beginning of the series, Masashi Kishimoto demonstrated his incredible ability for foreshadowing and allusionand his sophistication made him one of the best at this technique, along with geniuses like Hajime Isayama and Eichiro Oda.
Season 1 of the series was incredible and had several moments and scenes that signaled a turning point, but it was in Shippuden that the foreshadowing was kicked up a notch, making fans belatedly realize what was going on. go out. This is one of the many strengths of the series and the foreshadowing is still present in the Boruto series.
10 Madara is always wary when approached from behind
An ironic and fitting ending for the ghost of the Uchiha clan
This foreshadowing is more ironic and humorous but still interesting. When Madara and Hashirama's childhood and past were revealed, Madara was always afraid of anyone approaching him from behind. This mistrust never went away and despite being careful about his blind spots, he still died twice from being stabbed in the back.
Once he was killed by Hashirama during their legendary battle, and the second time by Black Zetsu. It's truly a fitting way to end the story of one of the best villains in anime. The only thing he was cautious about turned out to be that he would be killed twice.
9 Sakura intends to be with Sasuke
The iconic couple's happy ending was revealed at the beginning of the series
One of the biggest debates among Naruto fans while the series was ongoing was who would end up with whom. SasuSaku, the name of Sasuke and Sakura's ship, is one of the most popular names, if not the most popular. Sakura's infatuation with Sasuke makes fans sympathize with her love, and even though he has a harsh attitude towards her, many people still want the two to be together.
Luckily, this was more or less confirmed in the cover of chapter #64 where Sakura was drawn wearing a kimono and holding a fan in front of the beach. The text reads “Sakura holds an Uchiwa fan with the Sasuke police emblem.” This illustration shows that fact Sakura is about to marry into the Sasuke clan, or the Sasuke clan.
8 members of Team 7 will become summoners
Summoning toads, snakes, and slugs has become one of their most powerful jutsu
Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura inherited techniques from the legendary Sannin, and one of them is the Summoning Technique. Cover of Naruto chapter #6, titled “Kakashi Hatake”, depicts three people with their respective summons; Naruto with the frog, Sasuke with the snake and Sakura with the slug. These animals play a key role in the lives of all three. From Naruto learning Sage Mode from Toad, Sasuke being saved from Deidara by his snake, and Sakura healing many people with slugs, this jutsu is one of the best in their arsenal.
However, this cover not only introduces the three's next jutsu but also hints at the birth of the Sannin. The combination of these three animals is from Japanese mythology in the novel called Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant. From folklore, Jiraiya is associated with toads, Tsunade with slugs, and Orochimaru with snakes. Given Naruto's many references to Japanese mythology, this is an intentional foreshadowing that serves two purposes.
7 Sasuke must join Orochimaru
A simple image heralds a major turning point
Chapter #24, titled “Speed”, features an illustration of Sasuke in front of a full moon with a purple snake wrapped around his body. Even though this is during the Wave Wave arc where Sasuke confronts Haku, This image shows the fact that Sasuke will join Orochimaru and leave the village, this happens many chapters later. This shows how far Kishimoto was planning and no one could have seen the change from that image.
Sasuke's departure from Konoha led to one of the series' best arcs ever, and the Search for Sasuke Arc is filled with fun and wonderful moments. Naruto's goal of becoming Hokage was even more complicated, and this development, which allowed the series to last as long as it did, was planned from the beginning.
6. Jiraiya is about to die
The Sannin's death is teased ominously
Episode #126 of Naruto Shippuden is one of the more emotional episodes, and while it doesn't explicitly imply that Jiraiya is about to die, there are signs. Titled “Twilight,” Jiraiya visits the Hokage's office to say goodbye to Tsunade before heading to Hidden Rain village. The two discussed Pain's location while drinking, and Jiraiya told Tsunade that he would go alone, which she objected to due to Pain's strength.
Before Jiraiya left, the two shared an emotional moment, with Tsunade in tears and begging for his safe return. Jiraiya laughed and told her to bet on his death since she was unlucky at gambling, and he left. This scene is worthy of a farewell between two close friends and Jiraiya's meeting with his friend and sharing such a heartbreaking moment was the prelude to his tragic death..
5 The connection between Naruto and Minato has always been hinted at
This change is easy to see coming
Even though he is no longer in his son's life due to his tragic death, Minato is still one of the best fathers in anime. Although the two's relationship was revealed much later in the series, many clues pointed fans in the right direction. The most striking feature is their appearance, they both have bright blonde hair and piercing blue eyes.
Jiraiya's concern for him and comment that Naruto had the same potential and personality as Minato was one of the biggest signs. Furthermore, Jiraiya internally apologized to Minato while he was training Naruto, proving the fact that the two had a special connection.
4 Black Zetsu has been plotting something for years
His involvement was much deeper than expected
Madara's controversial betrayal and the appearance of Kaguya Otsustsuki seemed to be invisible to fans, but There are clues that Black Zetsu has been plotting something in the dark for years. During the battle between Hashirama and Madara, Zetsu observed the battle, revealing his concern for Madara. It was Madara who, many years later, accidentally freed Kaguya from her prison.
Zetsu's betrayal is not unusual. Throughout the series, he is portrayed as a scheming and manipulative character, collaborating with Obito to control Nagato. Furthermore, his unique knowledge of chakra history and the Sage of the Six Paths means that he has been alive for a very long time and is planning something. Madara is the perfect person to prepare and use to revive Kaguya, as he has all that is needed to bring the goddess back.
Zetsu also leads Kabuto to Madara's DNA, allowing him to be revived and join the fight.
3 Naruto and Sasuke are the reincarnations of Indra and Ashura
The Two Brothers Repeat the Cycle of Hatred
Naruto and Sasuke have always been portrayed as opposite sides of the same coin, and their destiny is to compete with each other. One represents hate and revenge, while the other represents hope and love. Their ideologies were bound to clash, and their first death battle in the Valley of Death hinted that they were reincarnations of Hagoromo's sons, Indra and Ashura. With Naruto standing on the statue of Hashirama and Sasuke standing on the statue of Madara, both are repeating a cycle that has existed for centuries. Kakashi then says that as long as they both live, this cycle of hatred will never end.
The next hint about both of their past lives is when Obito is explaining the origins of the ninja world and talks about the Sage of the Six Paths, and his sons Ashura and Indra. He then states that Naruto and Sasuke are the next chosen by fate, which almost confirms that they are both reincarnations of Hagoromo's sons. Even Naruto suspected that his and Sasuke's fates would clash, telling his friends that only he could defeat Sasuke.
2 Itachi is not as evil as we think
The actions of Itachi and the Evil One do not match
The Sasuke Clan massacre and Sasuke's burning hatred for the perpetrators are a huge part of the series, even more so after the timeskip. Killing his entire clan was one of Konoha's greatest tragedies and injustices, and it's no surprise that Itachi was viewed as a monster by readers. The first sign that There is more to Itachi than that is in chapter #7 when Sasuke talks to Sakura about the person he wants to kill and he says “That time…crying”. It was later revealed that Itachi shed tears after killing his relatives and leaving Sasuke. It seemed like Sasuke was trying to understand Itachi's tears.
Another moment that caused a discrepancy between Itachi's personality and evil actions was when he and Kisame infiltrated Konoha and encountered Kakashi, Asuma, Guy, and Kurenai. They were powerless against Itachi's genjutsu, but surprisingly none of them were killed even though Itachi had the power to do so.
Jiraiya said he had an informant within Akatsuki, most likely Itachi.
1 Signs that Obito is alive
Akatsuki's mastermind is Kakashi's “dead” friend
Back when Naruto was still being published, Tobi's identity was a big point of fan theorizing. The reveal that it was Obito behind the mask was one of the most surprising twists in the series., but the clues were there from the beginning. Chapter #16 of Naruto features an illustration of Naruto sleeping with a framed photo of Kakashi and his old team. This chapter is titled “Who are you”, which are the words Naruto said to Obito after he broke his mask. This one isn't very clear, but other clues are clearer.
The Five Kage Summit arc sees Tobi and Kakashi meet, and Kakashi prepares to use Kamui on him. However, Tobi stopped Kakashi and told him that it wouldn't work, because they both possessed Kamui and they would cancel each other out. However, the best hint that Tobi is Obito is when he fights Konan, and the aftermath of the fight results in his mask being half broken. His hair was identical to that of young Obito, and for many, this sealed the deal and was almost a confirmation that the Sasuke clan boy was behind the Akatsuki.
