That time I was reincarnated as a Slime Episode #21 has the Tempest opening festival in full swing, with a grand concert that wows the likes of Luminus Valentine, as well as the long-awaited opening of the arena. Rimuru also discovers that the country has a bit of a liquidity problem, which could make paying for the festival a real problem.
The episode covers a variety of characters and issues, most notably Shion and Shuna showing off their previously unknown musical talents to the world. While the scene is much shorter than the manga, it's still a mesmerizing performance, and of course, it's great to finally hear the music they play. Luminus was so impressed by the concert that she arranged an enhanced cultural exchange with Tempest, even giving Rimuru a powerful new ability. What Happened When I Was Reincarnated as a Slime Part 3, Episode #21?
Rimuru Festival is in full swing
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 3 episode #21 features Tempest's inaugural festival at its peak, with enough entertainment to enthrall both nobles and commoners. The episode opens with a concert featuring both human and monster performers playing classical music, as well as a special performance by Shion and Shuna showing off their violin and piano skills. There's also a scientific presentation, showing Tempest's research on Magicules and how they interact with even inanimate objects, much to the amazement of many of the scholars present.
Rimuru then had a meeting with Mjollmiles and several of his trusted associates, where it was revealed that Tempest might be having trouble paying its debts. While the nation was rich in treasure, it had little actual currency, making it difficult to pay the smaller merchants a proper amount. The idea was to overpay slightly in raw gold, rather than coins, but Mjollmiles strongly objected, arguing that this would set a bad precedent. The situation seemed to have been orchestrated by the merchant council, in hopes of ruining Tempest's plans for a “mutually prosperous” region.
