Episode #19 of That time I was reincarnated as a Slime will see the main storyline return, after episode #18 spent some time recapping the events of season 3 so far. While recap episodes aren't usually the most exciting for die-hard fans, they can be important for bringing more casual viewers up to speed on what's happened.
Episode #18 is narrated by Luminus Valentine, the vampire lord and deity of the Luminist faith, who leads the Holy Empire of Lubelius from behind the scenes. Luminus was a key figure throughout the first half of season 3, as she was Hinata Sakaguchi's direct superior, so getting to see her perspective on some of the events that took place was at least a little interesting. While more of Luminus' past is revealed in the episode's opening, with her and a mysterious figure frozen in ice, the identity of this frozen beauty remains a mystery for now.

New episodes of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime premiere Fridays at 8:30 a.m. Pacific/11:30 a.m. Eastern, on Crunchyroll. That means fans should expect episode #19 to air on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. PT/11:30 a.m. ET. Since the international release is so close to the Japanese airing, the episode will initially only be available in Japanese with subtitles. Currently, the English dub is about 3 episodes behind the subbed version, so fans should expect episode #16 to come out in English next.

Luminus looks back at the Saint-Monster conflict
Episode 18 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a recap episode, with the events being told from the perspective of Demon Lord Luminus Valentine. The recap begins with a brief summary of Rimuru's past connection to Hinata and his ascension to Demon Lord himself, before moving on to a more detailed overview of the Saint-Monster Conflict that makes up the first half of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime season 3. The episode makes it very clear that the Seven Day Priest's deception was a lie, and it's interesting that Luminus is unsure of how their leader, Gran, was actually defeated.
As the episode picks up to the present day, Luminus muses that perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to extend friendly relations with the Jura-Tempest Federation, bringing her people and Rimuru closer together. This would require some changes to the Western Holy Church's anti-monster doctrine, but if anyone had the power to erase the old doctrine, it would be the god of faith in the flesh. Luminus even hints at Tempest's upcoming festival with Hinata Sakaguchi by her side, perhaps hinting that she will appear in future episodes once again.

Rimuru welcomes dignitaries from across the continent
Volume #19 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is titled “A Throng of Visitors.” Based on chapters 108 and 109 of the manga, Rimuru will welcome some big-name guests, such as King Gazel of Dwargon and the leaders of Blumund. Rimuru will also have the opportunity to meet Champion Youm and his party for the first time since becoming king of Falmuth, now known as Farmenas. With a new kingdom in place, Rimuru won’t necessarily need the exorbitant compensation that was demanded of the nation’s former leader, giving Youm a blank slate to begin ruling.
The episode also sees Rimuru interact with Yuuki Kagurazaka, the guild leader, who has also been secretly working against Rimuru behind the scenes. Depending on how well he adapts, Rimuru may even reunite with his former students at the academy in Engrassia. Lightspeed hero Masayuki is not forgotten either, and will soon roll into Tempest, but is he really here to fight Rimuru, or can this confrontation really be avoided?
With the long-awaited festival finally starting in the next episode, many exciting events, such as the labyrinth built by Rimuru and Ramiris and arena battles, will soon begin, which will help breathe new life into the That time I was reincarnated as a Slime.
