Netflix released a new, violent red-band trailer for its upcoming Terminator Zero anime series during its screening at Anime NYC this year. The film is scheduled to debut on the streaming service on August 29, 2024, coinciding with the franchise’s “Judgment Day” event.

The panel featured several staff members from Skydance Animation and Production IG, including anime director Masashi Kudo (Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War character designer), production design coordinator Haruka Watanabe, and showrunner, executive producer, and writer Mattson Tomlin (Project Power, The Batman II).
The series will consist of eight episodes in total and is part of the overall Terminator universe, serving as its first animated installment. However, the main story focuses on new characters not featured in the film.
The main voice cast of Terminator Zero includes:
• Timothy Olyphant as the Destroyer • Rosario Dawson as Kokoro • André Holland as Malcolm Lee • Sonoya Mizuno as Eiko • Ann Dowd as the Oracle
In addition, the Japanese voice cast also includes:
• Yasuhiro Mamiya as Destroyer • Yuya Uchida as Malcolm • Toa Yukinari as Eiko • Atsumi Tanezaki as Kokoro • Saori Hayami as Misaki • Hiro Shimono as Kenta • Shizuka Ishigami as Hiro • Miyuki Sato as Reika
Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will serve as executive producers on the series.

Netflix describes the main synopsis of Terminator Zero as:
2022: A war has raged for decades in the future between a handful of surviving humans and an endless army of machines. 1997: An AI called Skynet gains self-awareness and begins a war against humanity.
Caught between the future and the past, a soldier is sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She travels to 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee, who is attempting to launch a new AI system designed to counter Skynet's impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by a relentless assassin from the future who forever changes the fate of his three children.
