Netflix on Monday unveiled a new trailer for Skydance Animation and Production IG's animated series Terminator Zero, along with a new key visual. The series stars Timothy Olyphant as Terminator, André Holland as Malcolm Lee, Rosario Dawson as Koroko, and Ann Dowd as The Prophet.
Mattson Tomlin, known for Project Power and The Batman II, will serve as showrunner, executive producer, and writer on the series. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger of Skydance are executive producers. Masashi Kudo will direct the anime at Production I.G.
Netflix describes the plot of the series as follows:
2022: A war has been raging in the future for decades between a handful of survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: The AI known as Skynet gains self-awareness and begins its war against humanity.
Caught between this future and past is a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee, who is working to launch a new AI system designed to counter Skynet's impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by a relentless assassin from the future, forever changing the fate of his three children.
