Fourth grader Ayumu Fujino regularly draws four-manga for the school newspaper and is praised for having the best artwork in the class. One day, she is asked by her teacher to deliver one of her manga columns in the school newspaper to a truant student named Kyomoto. When Kyomoto’s manga appeared alongside Fujino’s manga, it received praise for its detailed artwork, making Fujino extremely jealous.
Refusing to be beaten by someone who barely went to school, Fujino devoted herself to learning manga creation. However, as time passed, her goal of surpassing Kyomoto seemed increasingly distant, and Fujino, now in sixth grade, eventually gave up and stopped making comics.
