The manga Kagurabachi follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a young man who sets out on a quest to collect magical swords stolen from his late father.
The manga debuted on September 19, 2023. Before the manga's first anniversary, it was awarded the prestigious Tsugimanga Award.
The award was based on votes and Kagurabachi won by a landslide. Fans around the world voted for the manga and praised it on social media. The results were announced on August 28, 2024.
Kagurabachi won the Print Manga Category by an overwhelming margin, with over 100,000 votes from fans worldwide.

Previously, the Kagurabachi manga was rapidly gaining popularity with each volume as the manga reached a huge sales milestone. In July, it was announced that: “Combining the sales estimates for Volumes 1, 2, and 3, Kagurabachi has sold a total of 316,577 copies! We've broken the 300,000-copy barrier! Volume 3 will also be available on Oricon on Thursday. So the numbers will change then.”
