In recent years, it seems that the trend of bringing RPGs to animals is growing and becoming a somewhat correct strategy for many developers.
Typically, Stray – a game released in 2022 became a big hit, even appearing in many nominations of The Game Awards that year. Names like Little Kitty, Big City are similar. And here, another super interesting role-playing game is about to appear, when players will take on the role of a dog, but in a stealth action style.
The project is called Barkour – a role-playing game in which you control a secret service dog tasked with saving the world on behalf of a spy organization made up of animals.
As shown in the trailer, in Barkour, this four-legged super spy must move through environments using parkour-like skills as well as applying many high-tech gadgets to stealthily overcome mercenaries and defeat them through super funny attacks. Besides the combat mechanism, the game's graphics are also highly appreciated with extremely eye-catching scenes.
Not much is known about Barkour at the moment. According to the official announcement, the game will only be released in 2025 on PC and consoles. Like Stray and Little Kitty, Big City before it, Barkour looks to offer players an interesting perspective by putting a common pet in the role of a spy, even tasked with saving the world from evil.
It is not yet known whether Barkour can recreate the success of Stray, but this will definitely be one of the projects worth waiting for in 2025.
