Thanks to the popularity of Gunpla model kits from the Gundam series, fans have been able to create some interesting custom models. Now, one Instagram account is taking that to the next level with an unofficial branding collaboration.
Showcased on the Gundam Hobby Shop Instagram account is an incredible custom Gunpla model depicting the RX-78-2 outfitted as a fast food delivery driver. Holding food and sponsored (unofficially, of course) by Kentucky Fried Chicken, the toy's video is sure to make fans hungry. While it may not be made from the iconic 11 herbs and spices, it's certainly a feast for the eyes.

Gundam Hobby Shop Serves Kentucky Fried Gunpla
Taking a very different approach to the “original recipe,” the KFC Gundam featured by the Instagram account Gundam Hobby Shop is an incredible example of a custom figure. The toy is seen in a 360-degree video sitting on a scooter, which appears to be set up to deliver all sorts of delicious meals. At least some of this food is KFC, as shown by the bucket of chicken the Gundam kit model is holding, as well as the Kentucky Fried Chicken branding on the mobile suit itself. The Gundam also has a burger on the other side, suggesting that some clown or king-sized edibles may also be on the menu. There’s also a delivery backpack on the Gundam and another similar container on the scooter, with the latter labeled “SFAMLFFS TAKE AWAY.”
Sadly, this figure is a custom product that can't be purchased through any location. However, Gunpla model kits are becoming increasingly popular around the world among anime fans, especially those in the West. They can often be found at bookstore chains like Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million and its subsidiary, 2nd & Charles, and GameStop locations are starting to carry the brand as well. Likewise, Target and even Walmart are once again selling Gundam products, from Mobile Suit Gundam action figures to model kits. With parts from the latter, fans can build their own version of the KFC Gundam. Unfortunately for hungry Gundam fans, dinner is sold separately.
