This form did not last long and quickly disintegrated, making Sukuna's final moments particularly pathetic, especially considering how proud he was until the very end.
Sukuna's Final Form It was quite a shock, as many fans probably expected the Curse King to go out in a glorious manner befitting his title. Jujutsu Kaisen gives Sukuna the ending he deserves
Created by Gege Akutami, Chap #268, “Problem Solving”
The battle against Sukuna in Shinjuku lasted over thirty chapters, during which Jujutsu Kaisen established Sukuna as an insurmountable foe. Many mages tried and failed to defeat Sukuna during this long and rather drawn-out battle, but when Sukuna's defeat finally occurred in chapter #268, The conclusion seems worthy and natural.
Honestly, it's a relief that Sukuna didn't have to go through a final, even more powerful transformation, which would have only prolonged the battle even more as he was defeated by Yuji in the latest chapter. felt like the most natural ending to the battle.. With Sukuna's ingrained pride and his contempt for Yuji, it is understandable that he would refuse to show mercy to him in the end even when he was at his lowest when he was just a slimy mess. Yuji's victory over Sukuna also represents his ideals triumphing over Sukuna's ideals, even if Sukuna refused to accept this fact until the very end.
Sukuna's Final Form Following the Increasingly Popular Shōnen Trend
As soon as Sukuna's final form was revealed, many Fans were quick to compare it to villains in other popular shōnen manga series.like Muzan from Demon Slayer, Envy from Full Metal Alchemist, and even All For One from My Hero Academia. While Muzan and All For One take on helpless infant forms, Envy transforms into a pitiful worm-like creature in his final moments, sharing the most similarities with Sukuna's slimy final form.
While this approach is intended to make their defeats more satisfying, it often leaves the ending of the battle feeling uninspired. More importantly, as more and more shōnen manga adopt this approach to their main antagonists, the change itself starting to feel cliché and predictable. However, Sukuna's final moments in Jujutsu Kaisen Perfectly written with many layers of nuance and meaning, with Sukuna establishing himself as one of the most memorable villains of the shōnen genre despite his disastrous ending.
