Konami describes the first Suikoden game:
A once-famous hero turns into a brutal tyrant and an empire falls into ruin. Liberation forces rise up against oppressive rule. One by one, the 108 stars of Destiny assemble to shape the course of history.
Konami describes Suikoden II:

The remastered release will include new environment textures, new HD character illustrations, updated effects, all-new environmental sounds, remastered combat sound effects, an auto-save feature, a fast-forward option for battles, and a dialogue log.
Konami released the original game for the PlayStation in 1995, followed by a sequel in 1998. The series has five main games and five spin-offs.
