The Yury on Ice movie, “ICE AOLSCENCE,” has been canceled. The news comes from the official X account (formerly Twitter) of the popular anime series.
The production committee and staff at Studio MAPPA, the animation studio behind the project, cited “various circumstances” as the reason for this. This difficult decision.
The Yury on Ice franchise began in 2016 as a manga series that quickly won the hearts of readers. The film tells the story of Yury Katsuki, a talented figure skater who rediscovers his passion for the sport with the help of his idol-turned-coach, Victor. Nikiforov.
The manga's popularity led to the Studio adapting it into an anime MAPPA later that year. The 12-episode first season was a huge hit with fans.
Following the success of the anime, Studio MAPPA announced plans to make a Yuri on Ice film titled “ICE ADOLESCENCE” in 2017. However, in 2019, the studio revealed that the film's release will be postponed to ensure they can create a film that meets fans' expectations.
Now, after years of waiting, Yuri's official account on Ice X has shared the shocking news that production on the film has been cancelled. The declaration reads:

Regarding the postponement of the release of “YURI!!! on ICE the movie: ICE ADOLSCENCE”, we have regrettably come to the decision to cancel production.
We deeply apologize for not being able to meet the expectations of everyone who has waited and continues to wait to support us throughout the years.
The production committee and staff have been in constant discussion to make and distribute the film, but due to various circumstances, we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue production.
We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been looking forward to its release and thank you once again for your continued support.
