Studio Ghibli's official online store, Donguri Sora, regularly reissues or refreshes sold-out or outdated items for its many fans. However, their brand new releases are even more highly anticipated, and now the store has added a new, highly sought-after collection to its lineup.
Those who like to keep track of their daily schedules and appointments with pen and paper, or who simply enjoy writing, are in luck, as Studio Ghibli has now released its coveted 2025 diary line—a wildly popular annual collection that attracts fans of multiple franchises. This year, there are six different diaries to choose from, representing four films: two for My Neighbor Totoro, two for Kiki's Delivery Service, one for Laputa: Castle in the Sky, and one for Spirited Away. Each comes with unique illustrations and cover colors, as seen below.

Studio Ghibli Fans Are In for a Choice as Official 2025 Diary Revealed
The two My Neighbor Totoro diaries are probably some of the most popular in the collection, as the family-friendly film has a huge global appeal across all demographics. The first is a vibrant turquoise blue and features the woodland creature holding an umbrella, with Satsuki and Mei on the back cover, while the second still features Totoro but uses a simpler sketch-style design on a more natural, subdued moss green background. Both Kiki's Delivery Service diaries are red, with one being a bright crimson with both Kiki and Jiji as the girl flies through the sky on her witch's broom; the second is a darker “wine red” with a larger illustration of Jiji sitting alone, a curious or perhaps slightly surprised expression on his face.
Laputa: Castle in the Sky's diary is a deep, calm blue with a Tiger Moth plane on the front and the two main characters, Sheeta and Pazu, on the back. Rounding out the collection is the Spirited Away diary, which has a soft, neutral brown cover; the diary shows Chihiro and No-Face sitting side by side on the train, just like in one of the film's most iconic scenes when the pair go to visit Yubaba's identical twin sister, Zeniba.

Each diary is advertised as having easy-to-read text, with a design that would even work in a business setting. They are dated from October 2024 to January 2026, meaning fans won't have to wait until next year to use them. All of the diaries include a full calendar, calendar pages, lined and unlined spaces for notes, the option to take cut-out notes, and an age chart. The brighter Totoro and Kiki diaries are A6 sized with 128 pages, while the other four are larger A5 sized, with 80 pages each. However, they all cost the same 2,090 yen (about $14 USD), regardless of size or design.
Studio Ghibli's extensive catalog of films, including My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, and Spirited Away, is available to stream on Max for viewers in the United States and Japan. Those in Canada, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand can watch the same films on Netflix.
