Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro are two of Studio Ghibli's most iconic cinematic properties to date. As summer approaches, the critically acclaimed animation company has revealed a special offer for fans of the series: a brand new tableware collection that allows users to relax during the day hot summer with refreshing drinks.
Studio Ghibli's online store, Donguri Sora, recently added a new Totoro-themed tea pot to its expanding digital catalog. The adorable pot also comes with a handy tea strainer, decorated with cute Totoro decals in small, medium and large sizes. It also has a moderate compact size, making it easy to store in the refrigerator for later use. After brewing a variety of their favorite teas, fans can take them on the go using Ghibli's new Totoro and Kiki-themed bottles. While there are countless similar items on Donguri Sora, these particular bottles are also heat resistant, making them ideal for holding hot drinks like tea and coffee. Notably, the products are specially designed with wide openings that make cleaning relatively easier than many similar beverage items. Including tax, the pot of Totoro tea costs 2,035 yen (13.04 USD) while each bottle costs 2,530 yen (16.21 USD).

Both Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro were written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the famous Ghibli co-founder who is responsible for some of the most famous animated films in Japanese history. While the former film is based on the children's novel of the same name by Eiko Kadono, the latter originates entirely from Miyazaki's unique imagination. My Neighbor Totoro revolves around Satsuki and Mei – two sisters who move to the countryside to be closer to their mother, who is recovering from a serious illness. While exploring their new home, the girls quickly discover that it is home to many strange yet magical creatures that are invisible to adults. Most of their adventures involve the titular Totoro – a giant forest spirit who befriends the sisters after Satsuki gives him an umbrella one rainy night.
Unlike Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service is a poignant coming of age story focusing on the teenage protagonist. The film's star is Kiki, a 13-year-old apprentice witch who must spend a whole year away from home before making progress in her studies. Together with her black cat Jiji, she sets out on her mother's broom in search of a new home. The next morning, she arrives in a bustling seaside town where most people seem unfamiliar with witches. After striking a deal with a friendly bakery owner named Osono, Kiki begins using the woman's business as a base of operations for her signature airplane delivery service. Despite her success, she also occasionally faces disappointments and failures that even magic cannot solve.

The new Totoro and Kiki tableware products aren't the only items being released by Ghibli for the upcoming summer season. Recently, Ghibli's famous three-tiered Totoro wind chimes made a triumphant return with Donguri Sora. The timing of this special re-release is no coincidence as wind chimes are a classic symbol of summer in Japan. Plus, when you go on holiday, you'll be able to travel in style with Ghibli's new themed passport case, which pays tribute to some of the beloved characters; in addition to Kiki and Totoro, the latter collection also incorporates Hayao Miyazaki's 2001 fantasy masterpiece, Spirited Away.
