Nintendo announced during its Grand Festival event on Sunday that Splatoon 3 will no longer receive regular updates. Special seasonal festivals like Splatoween, Frosty Fest, Spring Fest, and Summer Nights will continue with their old themes. Weapon tuning updates will also continue.
In-game events Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges will also continue for the time being.
The Grand Festival is a three-day special in-game event featuring special performances and free in-game gear that runs from September 12 to 15.
Nintendo of America held the “Splatoon World Championship 2024” and “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championship 2024” tournaments on April 13-14 in Japan.
Splatoon 3, the latest installment in Nintendo's Splatoon shooter series, was released in September 2022. The game sold 3.45 million copies in Japan in its first three days of release.
