The upcoming Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf anime has announced details about its theme songs. Hana Hope will perform the opening theme song “Tabi no Yukue (The Journey’s Destination)” while ClariS will perform the ending theme song “Andante”. After the second teaser video, the full anime trailer will be released on March 21 at 19:00 JST and will also feature the theme songs. The reboot will premiere this April 1.
Studio Passione is making the series under the direction of Takeo Takahashi, who also directed the original series. Hijiri Sanpei directed, and Kevin Penkin composed the music. The voice actors of the main characters return: Ami Koshimizu and Jun Fukuyama as Holo and Lawrence, and Mai Nakahara as Norah.
Crunchyroll will stream the upcoming Spice and Wolf reboot, describing the plot as follows: Lawrence is a traveling merchant selling various goods from a horse-drawn carriage. One day, he went to a village and met a beautiful girl with the ears and tail of an animal! Her name is Holo the Wisewolf and she brings bountiful harvests. She wishes to return to her homeland and Lawrence offers to take her. Now the once lonely merchant and the once wise wolf begin their journey north.

Spice and Wolf is based on the light novel series by Isuna Hasekura and illustrated by Ju Ayakura. It has been serialized by ASCII Media Works since February 2006 under the Dengeki Bunko label. A manga adaptation illustrated by Keito Koume began serialization in the November 2007 issue of ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh magazine. The series also saw a spin-off series titled Wolf and Parchment published Serials from September 2016.
The original Spice and Wolf anime aired for two seasons: the first season was animated by Imagin and ran from January to March 2008; The second season was animated by Brain’s Base and Marvy Jack, and ran from July to September 2009. Details about the anime reboot were first announced in February 2022.
