The supporting characters of the Solo Leveling anime finally get their moment in the spotlight thanks to a new guide from the creators of Solo Leveling: Arise, which details the best Hunters for the franchise's first game commercial rights.
While Solo Leveling: Arise players are tasked with taking on a variety of opponents, official developer Netmarble has provided an official CBR guide to help players achieve overall success. Perhaps surprisingly, given her lack of major screen time in the animated series, Hunter Lee Joo-hee was the top pick for her AOE (Area of Effect) healing skill. Her technique, Healing Wave, restores HP and mana while attacking, with the main effect being “Joohee restores the HP of allies in the Divination Circle by N% of her maximum HP.” Hunters Kim Chul and Anna Ruiz are also notable for their own reasons below.

Solo Leveling: Arise's Official Guide Spotlight Lee Joo-hee, Anna Ruiz & Kim Chul
Anna Ruiz's Poison Shower is a strong choice since monsters often block the path. Her AOE skill, Poison Shower, creates a Poison Zone, weakening enemies while allies are safe to continue the onslaught. Kim Chul's Faction of the Shield ability protects allies, reducing damage taken by 30% and applying a Shield equal to 25% of his Defense stat to allies. Anime fans may be especially interested in Kim Chul's starring role in Arise, as the character appears early in Episode 5. Anna Ruiz is the only one of the three proposed Hunters not to appear in Season 1 of anime.
One of Solo Leveling: Arise's main priorities was to highlight the series' supporting characters, who were often overlooked in the original anime and manhwa. New Hunters are expected to be added to the game every three weeks. Meanwhile, in an interview, Solo Leveling director Shunsuke Nakashige explained the changes to the series, talking about adding “a little meat” to the series with original scenes. Producer Sota Furuhashi also revealed that Solo Leveling Season 2 will take the original character's scenes even further in a new interview with voice actress Sally Amaki.
