Blue Box’s Kouji Miura (I Love You, My Teacher) is one of the best manga published on Shonen Jump. A lot of that has to do with the fact that it’s not really a shounen manga. It would be more accurate to describe this manga as a shoujo manga in which sports is the setting of a romantic comedy. After all the mindless fighting you see in typical Shonen Jump manga, this feels like a breath of fresh air. It also helps that Miura is one of the few female mangakas in the manga business and one of the few to be bootstrapped by Shonen Jump. So you can imagine my delight when I heard about an anime adaptation.
