Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced the Jump Sports Manga Awards on Monday with Takehiko Inoue, creator of Slam Dunk, Riichirō Inagaki, author of Eyeshield 21, Tadatoshi Fujimaki, author of Kuroko's Basketball, and baseball player Shohei Ohtani of the LA Dodgers serves as judge in a new press video.

This is the first time a U.S. Major League Major League Baseball player has participated in the Shonen Jump manga awards.
Sports manga search contest “aims to bring life-changing moments to readers”. Entries are open to professionals and amateurs and entries must be between 15-55 pages in length.
The winner will receive 1,000,000 yen (about 6,400 USD), semi-finalists will receive 500,000 yen (about 3,200 USD), honorable mention nominees will receive 300,000 yen (about 2,000 USD) ), finalists will receive 50,000 yen (about US$320) and promising entries will receive 10,000 yen (about US$64).
Applications are open from May 27 to October 31. Results will be announced in the second half of December on Weekly Shonen Jump.
