This year’s 40th issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine revealed on Wednesday that Shizumu Watanabe’s Dead Account manga will be moving to Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app, with the next chapter launching in the app on May 7. ten.
The manga is set in a world where ghosts also inhabit the Internet, following the tradition that ghosts linger in places where they have strong attachments. The story focuses on Sōji Enohiro, a 15-year-old boy who also streams under the name “Aoringo”. He streams intentionally violent, clickbait, and provocative content to get a reaction and make money, but all for the sake of taking care of his sister’s medical bills. In real life, he is a simple boy who only likes to eat pudding and love his sister, whom he would go to hell to get back. Once, while online, he was attacked by a ghost residing in the online world and it caused him a spiritual awakening. He was recruited by Miden Academy, a school that specializes in training exorcists to deal with the digital realm. This manga is unrelated to Watanabe and Okushō’s previous Real Account manga.
