Shaman King: Flowers Summons First Trailer, Anime Sequel Voice Cast

Shaman King: Flowers, the sequel to Shaman King’s 2021 anime reboot, has released its first trailer.

On YouTube, the official channel of KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE posted the first official video of the Shaman King: Flowers anime. Based on the manga series by series author Hiroyuki Takei, Shaman King: Flowers continues the adventures of the Asakura family. 13 year old Hana Asakura, son of Yoh and Anna Asakura, grew up to be a rude and lazy child. However, Hana’s boredom with everyday life begins to change when members of the Asakura Family branch challenge him and his father to take control of the main house.

The Shaman King: Flowers anime trailer also revealed the new and returning voice cast of the film.

Returning from the previous Shaman King series are Nana Mizuki as Tamao Tamamura, Takumu Miyazono as Ponchi, Noriaki Kanze as Konchi, Masahiko Tanaka as Ryūnosuke Umemiya and Wataru Takagi as Tokagerō. Anime studio Bridge, who produced the 2021 reboot, will be animating Shaman King: Flowers. Takeshi Furuta will return to direct the anime sequel. Shoji Yonemura is also returning as series creator. However, Mayuko Yamamoto will take on the role of character designer for Satohiko Sano.

The original Shaman King manga follows the lazy 13-year-old Yoh as he competes with and against other wizards in the Shaman Fight, a tournament held every 500 years to determine who will rule along with the Shaman King. Great Spirit as the next Sorcerer King. The 2001 original anime series was co-produced by TV Tokyo, NAS and Xebec. The series ran for 64 episodes from July 4, 2001 to September 25, 2002 and was later dubbed for North America by the now-defunct 4Kids company. The 2021 reboot anime sticks closer to the original and spans 52 episodes, starting on April 1, 2021 and ending on April 21, 2022.

The series finale teased the announcement of Shaman King: Flowers and revealed the new adult look of the original cast. Shaman King (2021) is available to stream on Netflix. Shaman King Original Series Blu-ray Disc (English) is now available on Discotek Media.

Shaman King: Flowers will be out in January 2024.
